Notice of Civil Service Examination for Firefighter/EMT The City of Taylor is seeking qualified applicants for Firefighter/EMT. Protects life and property by assisting company in extinguishing fires, administering basic and advance life support, extricate entrapped patients, controlling hazardous materials incidents, assist in fire prevention activities, and other emergencies and non-emergency situations. Maintain fire department facilities, apparatus, and equipment. All applicants must meet the MINIMUM ELIGIBLITY REQUIREMENTS FOR FIREFIGHTER/EMT outlined by the Local Government Code Civil Service Chapter 143. The person selected will be a personable, approachable individual who can establish and maintain effective working relationships with other City employees, officials, and the general public. The ideal candidate will have exceptional organizational abilities and analytical skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Under the direction of the City Manager, the City Clerk coordinates City elections, prepares Council agenda packets, posts notices of Council meetings, and serves as the Records Management Officer and custodian of the City Seal. An administrative assistant reports directly to the City Clerk.

Development Services Director
The Development Services Department serves the citizens of Taylor through consistent, courteous, and professional enforcement of adopted community codes and standards. Under the direction of the City Manager's office, the Development Services Director is responsible for the oversight of building inspection, code enforcement, short and long-range planning, demographic monitoring and reporting, geographic information systems (GIS), assisting with housing and community re-development efforts, assisting with economic development projects, and the Moody Museum. Work involves managing staff, working directly with outside contractors and experts, and providing advice to developers. In addition, this position provides public outreach to the development community.

Parks & Recreation Director
Taylor boasts an expansive park system with three major parks that offer an array of amenities, including swimming pools, walking trails, lakes, basketball courts, playgrounds, and much more. Under the direction of the Assistant City Manager, the Parks and Recreation Director plans, manages, supervises, coordinates, and implements the activities and operations of the department and coordinates activities with other departments, as well as schools, organizations, government entities, and tournament groups. The Director makes recommendations to City Council and management concerning parks and recreation matters, promotes the parks system and recreation programs, and manages operations, including budgeting, maintenance, capital improvements, project management, and program implementation.
