For the 9th consecutive year, the City of Taylor is nationally ranked for its participation in the annual National Night Out event. The Taylor Police Department hosted its 33rd Annual National Night Out on Tuesday, October 4, 2016. Thanks to the efforts of the residents working alongside the police and fire departments the City ranked 34th in the nation and 7th in the State for cities with a population between 15,000 and 49,999.
National Night Out involves over 38.3 million neighbors across 16,728 communities from all 50 states, U.S. territories, Canadian cities and military bases worldwide.
National Night Out is designed to:
Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness
Generate support for and participation in local anti-crime efforts
Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnership
Send a message to criminals letting them know neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
This year, the Taylor Police Department recruited neighbors to host 16 block parties and would like to thank all those who participated to help make this event such a success.
