The City of Taylor is recruiting engaged citizens who want to learn more about their city for the 2022 LEAD Taylor program. The program is a community-focused, collaborative program that provides participants an in-depth look at government operations, community planning and awareness, and the opportunity to learn about civic culture from the inside. Applications are being considered through December 31.

The first class will begin on Thursday, January 20, 2022

The 2022 class schedule will consist of a total of six five-hour classes offered on the third Thursday of each month from January through June at the Taylor Public Library. The Class of 2022 classes will include information about how City government works, the operations of the various City departments and the Taylor Independent School District. Classes will also cover civic organizations, the History of Taylor, the Taylor Chamber of Commerce and Tourism, the Taylor Economic Development Corporation, Main Street, and Downtown Businesses.

Participants who attend all six courses will graduate from the program on June 23, 2022.

To qualify for the program, applicants must reside in the City of Taylor, be at least 18 years of age by the date of the first class on January 20, 2022, and be willing and able to attend all six classes.
